How to Convert Handwritten Text into Digital Copy

Google has added a new feature to Google Lens that allows users to copy and paste their handwritten notes or texts and convert into a digital copy. According to the company, Google Lens can now detect and identify the letters from the handwritten text, convert them into digital version and users can also send it to PC without making any extra effort.

The new feature can be used either by accessing Google Lens from within the Google app or by downloading the standalone Google Lens app. So, if you are a student and want to convert your notes into digital copy or you simply want to convert the handwritten grocery list your mother just handed over to you, follow our step-by-step guide.

Before proceeding with the steps, do keep in mind that to make the PC transfer feature work, both Google Chrome on PC and Google Account on the phone should be the same. Also, make sure that you have downloaded the latest version of Google app or Google Lens app.

For our how-to guide, we will use the Google app as it comes pre-installed with almost every Android smartphone and is also available on iOS.

Steps to follow:

• Open Google app on your smartphone
• Tap on ‘Updates’ button from the bottom ribbon
• Now, tap on Google Lens icon placed at the left side of the Microphone icon
  
• Now, aim the camera on some handwritten text and click a picture
• Tap on texts and select the texts you want to copy
• Once you are done selecting, look for the option Copy to computer and tap on it
• Choose the computer from the list ( in case you are logged in to more than once computer using the same Google account)
• After this, you’ll receive a message stating ‘Text shared’
• You can now paste the text wherever you want.
